WE NEED NOT FEAR - PART 2

We all deal with fear. It is a real problem. Yet, the Bible clearly tell us not to fear.

God tells us not to fear the reproach of men.

Isaiah 51:7 - "“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart:Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults."

Sometimes, we are afraid to share our faith with other because we are afraid of what they will think of us or react to our testimony. In the same way, we are often afraid to speak the truth and against the sin in our society. Yet, God spoke to Jeremiah not to be afraid of speaking the Word of the Lord to others.

Jeremiah 1:7-8 - " But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

I should not fear anyone for the Lord is my refuge and strength.

Psalms 27:1-3 - " The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident."

I must not fear death. I have to admit that I have had to deal with this in my life. Yet, the author of Hebrews says we must not fear death or be enslaved to it. We are enslaved to death when it has authority over us or gripped our hearts.

Hebrews 2:14-15 - " Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."
